So many things have caused us tension in the last month. I’ll just highlight the biggest ones, so we can see how Chinese medicine can help you manage your anxiety:

I was freaking out about Megan Fox being pregnant with Machine Gun Kelly’s baby. (I didn’t know they were sexually active.) And how she could do this to David Silver?

I couldn’t believe Jessica Simpson broke up with Eric Johnson. (Stunning, didn’t see that coming!)

I’m praying for the Paris Hilton pet-grooming line. I’m very anxious because “Every pet deserves to be pampered.” I hope this will do well and bring in some cash for her.

And of course Scandoval! Tom cheated on Arianna. I mean, they were living together. How could he do that?! And Raquel was, like, her best friend! Arianna defended Tom and Raquel. This devastated me emotionally and led to so much anxiety.

Finally, to take it to the next level, this laid-back Yankees fan (he needs acupuncture) decided he should try to rip off Mookie Betts’ arm to help the Yanks. I didn’t see anything.

We’re all experiencing the same triggers. When Paris, Jessica, Machine Gun or Arianna cause you anxiety, use acupuncture and herbs to reduce stress, help with sleep and keep calm.

TREATING ANXIETY WITH CHINESE MEDICINE

I’ve seen firsthand how acupuncture and herbal medicine can transform the lives of those struggling with anxiety and emotional challenges. Acupuncture gently realigns the body’s energy, or Qi, helping to calm the nervous system and restore balance. When we’re stuck in overwhelming cycles of worry, it’s often a sign that the body’s natural flow of energy has become blocked or imbalanced. By stimulating specific points, acupuncture reduces stress hormones like cortisol, enhances the release of endorphins and promotes relaxation. When treating emotional issues, I like to use more needles and leave the needles in for longer. This helps relax the system. After sessions, my patients feel a deep sense of calm and clarity — like a weight has been lifted.

Herbal medicine enhances these benefits by addressing the root causes of anxiety. In Chinese medicine, emotional issues are often linked to imbalances in the organ systems, such as Liver Qi stagnation or Heart Yin deficiency. Customized herbal formulas nourish these systems and bring the body and mind back into harmony. I might include calming herbs like Suan Zao Ren to promote restful sleep or Chai Hu to smooth the flow of energy when stress feels overwhelming. Together, acupuncture and herbs offer a comprehensive approach to healing, relieving symptoms and promoting long-term emotional resilience.

For deeper emotional release, I often incorporate cupping and gua sha into treatments. These techniques work to relieve tension and stuck energy in the body, which can manifest as physical symptoms of anxiety, like tight shoulders, shallow breathing or a sense of heaviness. Cupping draws out stagnation, allowing for better circulation and an overall sense of lightness, while gua sha promotes the release of built-up tension and encourages emotional detoxification. These tools help patients feel physically freer and more emotionally open. Together these therapies create a holistic experience that addresses anxiety on multiple levels. They allow patients to step into a state of peace, clarity and balance.

At least we’re going into holidays which don’t ever cause anyone stress. Let Sher Acupuncture help you manage your emotions.
